Mapapp helps carry Olympic values beyond the sports hall
Respect, friendship, excellence—three words that lie at the heart of the Olympic Charter and, since last year, on the classroom walls of 64 primary schools across Serbia. The Olympic Committee of Serbia (OKS) and the Ministry of Education launched their programme “Promocija olimpijskih vrednosti” to turn those ideals into everyday practice.
How we fitted into the project
Interactive posters - We designed a Mapapp poster set for each school. A scan of any QR code opens a two-minute story—from Pierre de Coubertin’s first Games to the meaning of fair play today—and ends with one multiple-choice question. The format lets teachers blend Olympic education into a regular class without extra hardware or log-ins.
The quiz system - All schools received access to our cloud quiz platform. Results arrive in real time, so OKS could track progress and shortlist finalists without paperwork. The same engine powered the live showdown in Belgrade.
Indicator | Figure |
Schools involved | 64 |
Pupils engaged (6th–7th grade) | 12,000+ |
Teachers using posters & quizzes | 700+ |
Final-event teams | 5 schools x 12 pupils |
Numbers rose sharply from the pilot year—up from 51 schools and 10 000 pupils - showing that micro-learning tools can scale without losing attention.
What the pupils faced in the final? At Belgrade’s OŠ “14. oktobar” the top five schools tackled three stations:
- Knowledge quiz served through our platform on tablets.
- Creative task - designing a class pledge around the three values.
- Relay course that turned theory into teamwork. OŠ “Josif Pančić”, Belgrade, took first place, but OKS reminded everyone that the point was to live the values long after the medals fade.
Why posters and quizzes? Attention spans are brief; printing a code on paper bridges the gap between analogue space and digital depth. Pupils meet the values in their own rhythm - scan, learn, answer, move on and project staff can see which concepts need another pass before the next lesson.
